The sign-in at Google or Microsoft was cancelled or the permission to send email was not granted, so no connection was stored.

This article is for sites using **One-Click Setup** where you come back from Google or Microsoft with `sign-in was cancelled`.

> **The error as you see it:** `One-Click Setup: the sign-in was cancelled`
>
> Shown on the mailer screen when you return from the provider without allowing access.

## What this error means

Google or Microsoft sent you back without a result. Either you closed the consent screen, chose **Cancel** or **Deny**, or your organisation does not allow the permission that was asked for (sending email as you). Nothing was stored and your previous connection, if any, is unchanged.

## Common causes

- **The consent screen was closed** before choosing Allow.
- **The organisation blocks third-party apps.** In Google Workspace an administrator controls which apps may be used; in Microsoft 365 an administrator may require admin consent for delegated permissions.
- **The wrong account** was picked and had no permission to send.

## How to fix it

1. Click **Sign in** again and choose **Allow** on the permission screen.
2. If the provider shows a message about the administrator, ask them to allow **CRM-NG SMTP Email** for your organisation: in Google Workspace under **Security → API controls → App access control**, in Microsoft 365 under **Enterprise applications → Consent and permissions**.
3. If your organisation will not allow it, switch the mode to **Your own app** and follow the manual guide for [Gmail](https://catalystgroup.gg/docs/email-delivery/mailer-gmail/) or [Microsoft 365](https://catalystgroup.gg/docs/email-delivery/mailer-microsoft-365/), which uses an app your administrator creates.
